Just because we are alone, it doesn’t mean we are lonely. In the moments that we spend with ourselves, we are able to feel and act without fear of judgement and live as the truest versions of ourselves. Sometimes these moments feel electric and allow us to release our inner child, and other times they feel calm and thoughtful. Most importantly, these moments allow us to reflect, grow and learn about who we are.
This folio is inspired by the joy I personally find in spending time by myself and depicts a series of moments of one embracing their own company. Lighting, composition and setting were carefully considered for each image. The final works were created by combining several images taken from the same position. Digital manipulation techniques including colour grading and filters were used to achieve the final appearance.
Sometimes the person we need the most is ourselves.
